PivotED Micro School Admissions Information

We’re so glad you’re exploring our small, student-centered learning community. Here’s everything you need to know about joining our multi-grade classroom.

Who We Serve:
PivotED welcomes students from Kindergarten through 12th grade into a mixed-age learning environment that’s flexible, personal, and engaging. We’re designed for families seeking a nurturing, academically strong alternative to traditional school—where progress is measured by each child’s growth, not by a standard mold.

Admissions Process

  1. Submit an Interest Form
Start by completing our online Interest Form, where you’ll tell us a little about your child and what you’re looking for in their education.

  2. Schedule a Parent Call
Once we’ve reviewed your form, we’ll set up a short 15-minute conversation to talk about your goals, answer questions, and see if PivotED feels like the right fit—for your family and for us.

  3. Enrollment Decision
We’ll let you know our decision shortly after the interview. If your child is accepted, we’ll send over enrollment forms and details to get started.

  4. Trial Day Option
Families are welcome to schedule a trial day for their student. During this visit, the student will shadow a current PivotED learner to get a feel for our routines and culture. Because individualized learning paths are created after enrollment, the trial day experience will be slightly different—but still a great snapshot of what learning at PivotED feels like.

Ongoing Enrollment
We accept students on a rolling basis until we reach our maximum of 12 students. Once full, additional families will be placed on a waitlist and contacted as space becomes available.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While we may not follow the traditional school model, I firmly believe that kids thrive with consistent exposure to learning. That’s why we offer classes from Monday to Thursday. Currently, we do not provide part-time options, as we are committed to maintaining a comprehensive educational experience for all our students.

  • Classes will meet at Church Project North County located in the Conroe Outlet Center Suite 104.

  • Our school currently welcomes students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and we’re energized by the opportunity to grow even further in the future. As PivotED continues to expand, we envision an even more vibrant learning community—one that supports a wider range of learners and creates meaningful pathways for every student.

  • We Follow Standards, Not Scripts
At PivotED, we use the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) as our academic compass—not our cage. We stay aligned to the standards, but we don’t treat them like a rigid checklist. And when we see something isn’t working for a student, we pivot—quickly and intentionally.

Instead, we build learning experiences that honor the standards while giving us the freedom to teach in ways that actually work for real kids. We use a mix of high-quality resources—IXL, Easy Peasy, RealScience4Kids, Dave Ramsey curriculum for older students, books, hands-on projects, leveled tasks, and tech tools—to make sure concepts stick.

This balanced approach keeps learning engaging, personalized, and meaningful—without losing sight of academic rigor, structure, or the bigger picture of what students truly need to thrive.

  • While PivotED doesn’t offer specific Bible lessons, we also don’t separate learning from faith. We don’t preach—we simply weave Scriptural connections into our real-world projects when it’s natural and appropriate. This helps students see how faith shows up in everyday life, shaping not just strong thinkers but grounded, purpose-driven young people.

  • About Our Life Skills Program

    A Developmentally-Aligned, Spiraling Approach (K–12)

At PivotED, every student participates in our six core Life Skills themes—Financial Literacy, Time Management, Communication, Practical Adulting, Service & Leadership, and Emotional/Faith Wellness. These themes return every six weeks, creating a rotation that repeats four times each school year.

Even though all students experience the same themes, the lessons themselves are fully adjusted by grade level.

    This means:

Skills “grow up” with your child

    Younger students learn simple foundations.
Older students practice deeper, more complex, real-world versions of the same skill.

Each rotation builds on the last

Students don’t start over every six weeks.
Instead, each cycle adds a layer of maturity, responsibility, independence, or challenge that fits their age and readiness.

    Developmentally appropriate tasks

    Younger learners might:

    • Practice listening games

    • Sort coins

    • Fold towels

    • Serve simple classroom needs

    Older learners might:

    • Handle a full mock budget

    • Conduct empathy interviews

    • Lead team projects

    • Cook simple meals

    • Manage planners or digital calendars

    • Serve in the community in meaningful ways

The same theme—but not the same lesson

All grade levels are united under one theme at a time, but the actual work looks different for each age band (K–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8, 9–12).

Students develop mastery over years, not days

By repeating each theme four times a year—every year—students graduate PivotED with strong, practical, faith-centered skills for real life.

    Aligned with our faith mission

Faith connects to our character goals, like responsibility, kindness, and service. It’s present but not heavy, allowing space for students to grow at their own pace.
